Aengus Ó Snodaigh is a Sinn Féin TD for Dublin South Central, first elected in 2002. He is the party Sspokesperson for Irish language, the Gaeltacht, Arts and Culture, and was previously the party spokesperson for Social Protection. Before entering politics, he worked as a librarian and translator.
As a long-standing Sinn Féin TD I want to see a government led by Sinn Féin address the crisis in housing, health and the cost of living created by years of incompetent FF & FG governments; to bring Irish unity closer, and to ensure that the workers in Ireland are not ignored. Ba mhaith liom chomh maith go mbeadh an Ghaeilge lárnach i gclár rialtas eile agus amach anseo.
Our greatest crisis currently is the many faceted housing emergency: family homelessness; rough sleeping; overcrowding; young people emigrating; companies not locating here due to no accommodation for workers; nurses, teachers, gardaí turning down postings in Dublin due to unaffordable costs of renting or mortgages; evictions; sky-rocket price of homes and rents; mental health effects of homelessness or housing-related anxiety and more.
Housing and homelessness.
