O'Donovan has been a Social Democrats councillor for Limerick City West since 2019. She works in the HSE as a speech and language therapist.

I am a councillor and healthcare worker in Limerick and I hear every single day from my colleagues, patients, and people I represent about the lack of services, the years-long waiting lists, the fear of having to go to the hospital and the lack of faith they have in being able to access even the most basic services. i'm running because I know we can do better. I know we can have healthcare that is accessible, reliable, community based, and free at the point of access, and I know we can restore people's faith and trust in their public representatives.

I think people are tired and they are afraid. It has been a very difficult five years in Ireland and around the world and I think that we need to start rebuilding communities on the ground, and trust in government and politicians and find ways to move forward together.

If I get elected I will be using all my speaking time to talk about Limerick and all the towns and cities outside of Dublin that get left behind in the policy discussions and decision making. Limerick has been left behind in health and other basic services for far too long, so that will always be my priority.
