Quinlivan has been a Sinn Féin TD for Limerick City since the 2016 general election. He is the chairperson of the Oireachtas Enterprise, Trade and Employment committee. He was a councillor for Limerick City from 2009 to 2016 and was the party's nominee for a directly-elected mayor of Limerick earlier this year.

Limerick has been neglected by successive governments and challenges such as housing and the crisis at UHL have not been addressed. I believe that Sinn Féin has the solutions to both challenges and I am determined to address these challenges.

Housing and Homelessness. It is the fundamental issue that the state needs to tackle. It impacts nearly all other portfolios. A lack of housing and high rents impacts our young people, many of whom would like to stay in Ireland but due to this specific challenge – unable to afford rent or to purchase – they feel forced to emigrate.

University Hospital Limerick and the overcrowding and unsafe conditions facing staff and patients alike.
