Conway-Walsh has been a Sinn Féin TD since 2020 and is the party spokesperson for public expenditure, the National Development Plan and reform. She was a Mayo County councillor from 2009 to 2016.
I want to continue to be a strong voice for Mayo, to help end decades of neglect of the West of Ireland by successive governments. I believe there is a better way to govern and that much better choices could be made by a government that really cares about people and their standard of living. The manufactured crisis in housing and health needs to be brought to an end and for the first time the opportunity for Irish unity needs to be progressed by the government. I want to be a part of the positive change that I know is possible.
Too many people have no place to call home and the government presides over growing levels of inequalities between the very rich and the ordinary working people. Despite the budget surpluses which exist, there are still 4,000 children homeless across the state and children who were promised life changing scoliosis operations years ago have been let down time and time again by the current government.
I’d like to be announcing a 100% Pyrite redress scheme and a full public enquiry into the defective block scandal.
