Dillon has been a Fine Gael TD for Mayo since 2020. He is a Minister of State for local government and planning, and is also a former chairperson of the Fine Gael parliamentary party. Prior to becoming a TD, he worked with the pharmaceutical company, Allergan, as a validation engineer. He captained the Mayo football team and won two All Stars.
