Mike was born and raised in Garfiney, two miles east of Dingle town. He owns an auctioneering and real estate business and is also a member of the local GAA club. Amongst many of his priorities are farming, fishing industry, housing and tourism.
I decided to run as a young father of 4 kids. I have seen first hand time and time again the failures of our government of FF/FG on housing, health and the cost of living. I fear if there isn't a real meaningful change that what sort of a future are our kids going to have.
The greatest issue this country is facing is the housing emergency. It’s not a crisis, it’s a full blown national emergency and needs to be treated as one.
If I’m elected I would use my first speaking time to highlight the plight of the people in rural and urban Kerry. The issues with our housing inconsistencies in planning which is pushing our young farming families from the land into towns and villages to compete with other local families for available housing and the ever increasing cost of living.
