Financialisation of Housing - We need to relink the cost of housing to people's incomes and undo decades of neoliberal policy which treated housing as an asset instead of as a home. We need supports for housing co-ops, universal homes, and proper European-style rent controls which sets a maximum rent based on an index created by the government.

We live in essentially the only democracy in the world where we lack the right to elect our local government, and that has led to reduced trust in local government, which has caused decades of centralisation, reducing democratic accountability and efficiency. This is a key factor in our bad public services and infrastructure, and has been a major cause of the Housing Crisis.
