Born and raised in Drogheda, Byrne has been a member of Louth County Council since 2016, retaining her seat in 2019 and again in 2024. She is heavily involved in sport as chairperson of Drogheda United FC and was recently elected onto the FAI’s National League Committee.
I want to be a voice for Drogheda and Louth on a national platform. I am rooted in my community and see the huge untapped potential of this area which has been badly overlooked for far too long by successive governments

I want to give a voice to families and communities that have been left behind and work to make Drogheda City status a reality so we can fully realise the potential of Drogheda and its hinterlands.
