Mac Dubhghlais is a homelessness activist and former volunteer with Inner City Helping Homeless. He is an anti-racism campaigner and advocates for a united Ireland. He ran in the local elections in June as an independent for the Ballymun/Finglas area.

I decided to run as an anti-racist candidate on seeing the rise of racism in communities, and noting that none of the political parties or independent politicians openly addressed this issue - with some even adding to the spread of misinformation and disinformation. Also the lack of consultation within communities on policies that directly effect the people that live within them.

In a nutshell, the lack of social housing, the continued increases in rental prices and the opportunists who are using this issue to sow seeds of division within communities.
