Curtain has lived in Waterford since 2016 and has been politically active on key issues like housing, education and mental health. In 2022, he was made the first SU President of SETU.
I am fed up with Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael continuing to fail the people of Ireland. It’s heartbreaking to see people of my generation leave every day in search of a better future abroad. I want to fight for real change, to make Ireland a place where everyone can build a future and where our home becomes a viable and thriving place to live.
The housing and homelessness crisis. Nearly, 15,000 individuals are officially recorded as homeless, and this number doesn’t even account for those who have not declared themselves homeless.
If I am elected to the Dáil, the first issue I want to address is the hundreds of young people leaving Ireland every day in search of a better future - whether for work, education, or simply to escape a nation that is failing them. I want to emphasise the urgent need to create a new Ireland, one that doesn’t drive my generation away. We are the future of this country, and by losing us, Ireland is losing its future.
