Belfast police seek witnesses after 'paramilitary-style' shooting

A man in his 30s was shot in the leg in the west of the city last night.

POLICE DETECTIVES in West Belfast have appealed to the public for information after a man was shot in a “paramilitary-style” incident last night.

The man, aged in his 30s, was shot once in the right leg by unknown assailants.

The shooting occurred in Beechmount Crescent, a terraced residential area about 2.5 kilometres west of the city centre.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment, but his injuries were not life-threatening and he was released overnight.

The PSNI has asked anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area, or who has any information, to contact detectives in Grosvenor Road on 0845 600 8000. They can also contact Crimestoppers to give anonymous advice on 0800 555 111.
