This person created a real-life version of Space Invaders using a laser cutter
Just don’t try this at home, ok.
AS FAR AS arcade games go, there are few as defining as Space Invaders, a game that still holds up after its release in 1978.
Now someone has put together a real-life version of the game using a modified laser cutter, an Arduino board and a webcam.
The game comes from one of the owners of Just Add Sharks, a laser cutter manufacturer based in the UK.
Using an 80 Watt laser tube, he connected it to a custom controller and set up a system allowing him to fire lasers at the alien invaders.

A webcam is mounted on the machine showing you the action and the end result is what you would expect: a powerful laser burning everything in its sight.
For the rest of us who don’t have easy access to a laser cutter, you could play the original game online, which is just as fun as before (but with less burning).
