DO YOU LOOK good in a beard and red suit, and have you perfected your ‘ho ho ho!’?

Then you could be just the person to take part in one of country’s most festively fun charity events.

Three hundred Santas are being sought for a charity run in Rathwood, to help raise funds for the National Rehab Hospital and Suzanne O’Neill Fund.

The run will take place on 13 November at 11am and is being organised by Rathwood staff and local man Tony Donoghue.

James Keogh, director at Rathwood – which is located on the Carlow- Wicklow border – said: “We hope to get about 300 Santas together on the day. They can walk, run or jog and the distance is only 3km. The plan is to make it a family event.”

Several local people known to us have been receiving treatment at the National Rehab Hospital, including Terry Kirwan who was featured on RTE’s The Road to Rehab.

In addition, Suzanne, who had an accident this summer and is currently being treated there, spent her school work experience at Rathwood earlier in the year. So it is a cause very close to the hearts of all the staff at Rathwood.
