Motorcyclist (30s) dies following collision in Co Tipperary

The collision happened at the townland of Ballynagrana near Carrick-on-Suir at around 4.45pm on Thursday.

A MAN HAS died following a road traffic collision in Co Tipperary.

The collision, which involved a car and a motorcycle, happened at the townland of Ballynagrana near Carrick-on-Suir at around 4.45pm on Thursday.

The motorcyclist, aged in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has been taken to the mortuary at University Hospital Waterford where a post-mortem examination will take place. The coroner has been notified.

The driver of the car, a man aged in his 40s, was taken to Tipperary University Hospital as a precaution.

No other injuries were reported.

The road is closed pending technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.

Road users who were travelling in the area of Ballynagrana between 4pm and 5pm on Thursday and who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage, are asked to make this available to gardaí.

Investigations are ongoing.
