BEAUMONT HOSPITAL in Dublin says that an outbreak of winter vomiting bug at the hospital this weekend means that visitor restrictions have been put in place.

The public is being asked not to undertake any unnecessary visits to the hospital over the weekend and patients are being asked to restrict their visitor numbers to just one person each.

Hospital management says that no children should be brought in as visitors while the restriction is in place.

Members of the public who are vomiting or have diarrhoea are also being asked to hold off on coming into the hospital this weekend.

The situation is being monitored and it is not clear yet when the restrictions may be lifted.
