Open thread: What are your best childhood holiday memories?

It’s been the coldest July in 40 years so we’d like you to warm the cockles of our heart…

WE NEED YOUR help. Summer’s over (well, August was an autumn month when we were in primary school) and we… haven’t had one.

So would you do us all a favour and stick on the rose-tinted glasses and tell us your favourite memories of childhood summers and holidays. Every summer was an Indian one then wasn’t it? And Grandad used to go to Hazelbrook Farm for the ice-cream:
