TRIBUTES HAVE BEEN pouring in from some of the biggest names in rock and roll for Chris Cornell, who died suddenly at the age of 52.

The singer’s representative Brian Bumberry said in a statement to AP his death was ‘sudden and unexpected’ on Wednesday night following a performance at the Fox Theatre in Detroit.

“His wife Vicky and family were shocked to learn of his sudden and unexpected passing,” the statement said.

“They would like to thank his fans for their continuous love and loyalty and ask that their privacy be respected at this time.”

Cornell was a lead singer and songwriter for Soundgarden and Audioslave.
