Man arrested after record seizure of cocaine at Kerry airport

The cocaine was found in the lining of the man’s rucksack by Revenue’s Customs Service.

A MAN IN his 60s has been arrested after customs officers found cocaine in the lining of his rucksack.

Officers from Revenue’s Customs Service seized 4kg of cocaine, which has a potential street value in excess of €280,000, at Kerry Airport, Farranfore, today.

As a result of risk profiling, officers stopped and searched a male UK national in his 60s as he arrived on a flight from Frankfurt. During the search, they discovered the cocaine in the lining of his rucksack.

This was the largest ever seizure of cocaine at Kerry Airport. The man has been arrested and investigations are ongoing, Revenue said.
