GARDAÍ ARRESTED THREE men and seized a quantity of drugs worth an estimated €400,000 in Dublin 8 this evening, just a few hours after drugs worth around €7 million were seized in Meath.
The operation was carried out under Operation Thistle, which targets low-level members of the Kinahan gang.
The first search took place at a house in Kilmainham Bank, where heroin worth €25,000 and €6,000 in cash was discovered.
Three imitation guns were also seized and a man in his 50s was arrested and brought to Kilmainham Garda Station.
In another search at Basin Street, heroin worth €1,000 was seized and a man in his 40s arrested.
Another man in his 40s was arrested on foot, with existing warrants out for his arrest, at McCarthy Terrace.
During a further search at Berry’s Close in Inchicore, a number of packages wrapped in plastic were seized.
They contained 3.5 kilos of a powder-like substance, believed to be heroin and cocaine.
The estimated street value of this haul was around €350,000. A car was also seized for technical examination at the scene.
