MOST POLITICIANS HAVE their trademark pose which is always identified with them.
For Brian Cowen it was rubbing his head and looking confused; for Bertie Ahern it was half-smirking half-smiling at the camera. For Enda Kenny however, it’s pointing.
Since we first noticed him doing this it seems to have turned into an epidemic. He does it constantly: in the Dáil, on the campaign trail, on the golf course, when he’s meeting people – it’s everywhere. Here’s what we mean:

Seems he loves pointing at things, it’s just a shame he won’t point at a clear solution for the mess we are currently in.
Enda would of given Kim “our dear leader” Jong il a run for his money at pointing at things now that man could point at anything. I would of loved to see the 2 of them fighting it out like gladiators at a pointing contest. “gentlemen you know the rules, no laser pointers, no pointing sticks, no saying “that yokey bob” or “thingamajig” you can only use you’re index finger. NOW LET’S, START, POINTING!
Well spotted Christine at the journal! I know when you see them ‘steepling’ on the telly (with there fingertips touching in in like a pyramid shape) signifies an acute egomanic or a highly arrogance pose (Phil hogan does a lot of that) but will have to find out what my body language books says about the pointy finger. Could it be’ my brain recognizes what I’m looking at, but my memory won’t fill the rest of the gaps’.
It wasn’t, actually.
I was going through some old photos and found that there were loads of Enda pointing and so put the piece together. That was it. The Kim Jong Il one you’re talking about is the rather amazing Tumblr of him looking at things. But hey, maybe we’ll be able to get enough photos of Enda to do a follow-up piece on him looking at things, rather than just pointing…

Ha Ha! Thought it was only me that noticed that strange trait of his. In fact, I’m planning to start up a blog called ‘Enda likes pointing at some non-specific thing or person in the distance when a press photographer is around’. I’ve found other shots of him pointing not included in your gallery above. It would be interesting to hear from some body language expert as to why he does this: does it make him feel more in charge? More purposeful? Or is he just mildly eccentric?

The point is to indicate that he recognises someone who he has screwed somewhere along the line.It comes from the old showband thing of pointing at the girls from the stage,even if they are paying no heed to you, and then closely followed by a wink and sideways movement of the head.Check out Daniel O,Donnell.
