Gas explosion destroys house in Manchester

A WOMAN HAS BEEN rescued from the scene of a gas explosion which occurred around 7am today in Salford, Greater Manchester. The BBC reports that one house has been completely destroyed and four others badly damaged. Fire services say other people may still be trapped in the rubble. One person said he heard the blast six miles away.
