Investigation continuing into Kilcock double murder

Gardaí are searching for a motive for the shooting of the two men in Kildare on Tuesday night.

THE INVESTIGATION INTO the shooting dead of two men in Kildare is continuing today as gardaí continue to search for a motive.

A 31-year-old Irish man and a man in his 20s from eastern Europe were shot dead in the incident at Rochford estate in Kilcock on Tuesday night. Gardaí believe two or three men entered a house on the estate at around 10.20pm on Tuesday night and opened fire.

Two other people in the house were also injured in the shooting.

One of the two victims was fatally injured in the house but the other managed to escape out the back door of the house before collapsing in a neighbouring garden.

Gardaí have asked anyone with any information on the shooting to contact Leixlip Garda Station on 01-666 7800, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
