Jaguar E-Pace

With two weeks to go, Jaguar finally offers a peek at the new E-Pace SUV

The more compact sibling to the F-Pace, Jaguar’s fastest-selling car

JAGUAR MAY HAVE been late to the party but its first SUV, the F-Pace, made such an entrance that has become the fastest selling Jaguar in the company’s 95-year history. So it was inevitable that they would make another one. Enter the E-Pace, the smaller sibling to the F-Pace, competing in the compact SUV segment alongside the likes of the BMW X1 and Audi Q3.

The company hasn’t revealed many details yet but what we do know is that the E-Pace will use the LR-MS steel-based chassis of the Land Rover Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque.

Available with all-wheel drive technology and an Ingenium line-up of turbocharged petrol and diesel engines, the E-Pace will come with the option of a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic gearbox.

From the teaser image of the rear of the E-Pace it’s clear the tail lights resemble those found on the I-Pace EV concept.

The second teaser image shows how the E-Pace fits underneath both the I-Pace and F-Page in Jaguar’s SUV family. Also visible are its tapered side windows, much like the F-Type, and front air vents that are much more aggressive than those of its siblings.

Speaking about the smaller SUV, Ian Callum, Director of Design at Jaguar, said:

The combination of sports car looks with Jaguar performance will ensure that the E-Pace stands out. Every Jaguar is designed to excite the senses, and we think E-Pace will do just that, albeit with its own individual character.

With an expected UK price of around £28,000, we can expect to pay around €33,000 to €35,000 when it arrives later this year.

The compact performance Jaguar E-Pace SUV will be revealed to the world on 13 July.
