Luas services restored after lightning strike causes power outage

Delays are still expected on the Green Line.

LUAS SERVICES ON a section of the Green Line have been restored after being suspended this evening following a lightning strike which caused a power outage.

Trams were not running between St Stephens Green and Beechwood, a distance of five stops after the lighting strike. The outage struck just as rush hour began.

Many stranded passengers risked getting caught in another nasty bout of rain and walked the line instead.

The company has now confirmed that services on the Green Line have been fully restored, but delays are expected for a short period.
