Man dies in Tipperary lorry crash

A 32-year-old man was killed when his lorry left the motorway and hit an embankment this evening.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING a single vehicle fatal road traffic crash in Tipperary this evening in which a 32-year-old man lost his life.

The incident occurred on the M8 at Junction 10 Cahir at approximately 6.10pm, when an articulated lorry travelling northbound left the motorway and hit an an embankment before coming to a stop in a field, according to the Gardaí.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to South Tipperary General Hospital, Clonmel, for a post-mortem examination.

Traffic on the motorway has been reduced to one lane for traffic travelling northbound at Junction 10.
