Peugeot 5008

The Peugeot 5008 has had a serious facelift

The all-new 5008 transforms from MPV to large seven-seat C-segment SUV.

DO NOT ADJUST your set. This is the new Peugeot 5008 and it has had a serious Joan Rivers-style facelift.

It is no longer a sedate seven-seat MPV. It is now a large striking SUV ready to take on the likes of the Kia Sorento, Hyundai Santa Fe, Land Rover Discovery Sport and the new Skoda Kodiaq.

The all-new 5008 SUV is built on the same Efficient Modular Platform 2 (EMP2) as the 308 and the all-new 3008 SUV, though it is 19cm longer than the 3008 and 11cm longer than the original 5008.

It has a wheelbase of 2.84m and an overall length of 4.64m, so the cabin should be pretty roomy. Peugeot is even claiming it has ‘the biggest boot capacity’ among the C-segment SUVs with 1060 litres.

Seating wise, three separate folding seats – which are adjustable in length and incline – make up the second row and two removable folding seats make up the third row. The front passenger seat also folds flat to accommodate loads 3.2 metres in length.

The interior features the slick Peugeot i-Cockpit layout with an eight-inch touchscreen dashboard and 12.3-inch high-res digital head-up display.

Engine line-up has not been confirmed yet but Peugeot claims the CO2 emissions are as low as 117g/km for the petrol units and only 108g/km for the diesel units.

The 5008 will come in Active, Allure, GT-Line and GT trims and the books will open in spring 2017.
