Who would you vote for President?

It’s all go for the race to the Áras.

THE PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN is finally heating up as Fianna Fáil begins to close in on its candidate.

Former Dublin GAA manager Jim Gavin has sought the Fianna Fáil nomination for the presidential race, where he faces a possible contest with MEP Billy Kelleher to secure his candidacy.

Fine Gael is facing a contest: either former Minister Heather Humphreys or MEP Seán Kelly will represent the party in the election after former EU Commissioner Mairead McGuinness was forced to step away due to illness. Sinn Féin remains on the fence as to whether it will back the left candidate Catherine Connolly or run its own.

On the Independent front, there’s a number of names being thrown around, but for the purpose of this poll we have restricted it to only those who have formally declared they are seeking nominations.
