THE POST-MORTEM on the body of a woman that was found on a beach at Fanore, Co Clare yesterday morning will take place today.
A spokesperson from the garda press office told TheJournal.ie that the post-mortem will be undertaken at 10.30am this morning and that following this the gardaà will be examining the circumstances of the death.
The body has not yet been formally identified by gardaÃ, though they say they are treating the death as suspicious.
The person has been named locally as missing Ballyvaughan woman Deirdre McCarthy.
Deirdre (43) was last seen on Sunday at her home in Ballyvaughan and was reported missing after failing to turn up for work on Monday morning.
A search team including almost 50 local people as well as gardaà and search and rescue teams have been working tirelessly to find Deirdre in recent days.
