LIZ SMITH, THE actress who played Nana in the TV series The Royle Family, has died.
She was 95.
The news was confirmed by a family spokesperson this evening, Sky News reports.
Smith’s former co-star, Caroline Aherne – who played Denise – died earlier this year.
Liz Smith had also starred in The Vicar of Dibley and 2Point 4Children, as well as films such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Her big break came at the age of 49, when she starred in Mike Leigh’s Bleak Moments.
