Questioning continues over alleged Rathmines rape

A 14-year-old male is still being questioned in Terenure Garda Station over the incident.

GARDAÍ ARE CONTINUING to question a young teenager over an alleged rape of another teenager in Dublin last night.

Gardaí confirmed to TheJournal.ie that the juvenile is being questioned by gardaí in connection with the serious assault of a female at 11pm in a licensed premises in Rathmines last night.

RTE is reporting that the young male is 14 years old and that he was arrested at a teenage disco in the Tramco nightclub in Rathmines at 11.30pm after a 15 year old girl said she had been raped.

He is being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act and can be questioned for up to 24 hours.

It is believed there was no alcohol for sale in the Tramco nightclub last night, where the incident is alleged to have taken place.
