Sean Any of you red thumbs volunteers willing to tell me how it’s not a disadvantage for a vehicle to that’s unable to take an alternative route to its destination.

Sean, your last comment/question/challenge doesn’t make any sense; but I’m assuming you’re asking why people don’t approve of your comment.

1. It doesn’t add to the debate about the topic in question.
2. You weren’t clear about what you were saying (i.e. whether you believed that the Luas had caused the fire / made the situation worse / etc.)
3. A fire that closes off a street used by the Luas isn’t really a disadvantage of the Luas, just one experienced by the Luas.
4. You could make the same argument about trains, underground public transport systems, canal boats, cable cars, bicycle lanes and countless other modes of transport.

Sean. James. I’ll make it plain an simple. An accident just happened. Luas stops 40mtrs before scene. Luas can only reverse. Luas cannot make turn to take other route. Any other vehicle can. Agree?

Disagree. As I outlined in my previous comment, there are many other modes of transport that cannot take alternative routes where one is blocked.
For example,
Trains
Underground public transport
Canal boats
Cable cars
Planes (where the runway is blocked)

I am not going to have this argument with you. You just asked for a volunteer who might explain why your original comment was unpopular and I gave it to you.

Thank God we have Luas, Dart and Dublin Bikes in place. These are the best options to reduce traffic congestion, I hope there will be more and more Luas stops/lines open in the future. Also these are environmentally friendly ways of transport.
Increased vehicle traffic can turn every nice city into crap place to live.
Also I hope that our government will focus on promoting public transport systems instead of building yet another motorway, that will stay almost empty most of the day… (Limerick to Cork?? Seriously??)
It’s a pity people think only about themselves and being comfortable.

Leave the Luas alone, hour and a half I’ve been on this bloody 47 still not home, Luas is 35mins and a 15min walk!!

The underground is great until someone throws themselves infront of a tube, happens almost every other day in London these days, the line could be down for hours.
