I agree with your view marguerite, but don’t be so naive. Britain is helping with the bailout here so that our banks can repay the loans they got from the large financial institutions in London. If our banks default on those loans the UK economy will be a hell of a lot worse off than the few billion they gave us in the bailout. Anyway, back to the ballboy, great catch!

I am English first and British second.
A Welsh person is Welsh first and British second.

The difference? Over in the U.K., unlike the Scots, Welsh and N.Irish, I am regarded as racist if I say I am English. I am supposed to put British as my nationality, a ruling from the pc crowd.
But because I have always had a rebellious streak in me, I always write English where i am supposed to put British.

It is not my personal fault that back in history my country did so many bad things to this and virtually every country in the world. It saddens me that there are still folk who enjoy Brit bashing in this day and age.
What angers me that in spite of the fact that Ireland is part of the British Isles, there is no Irish history taught in schools over in the UK mainland (I cannot speak for the Northern Irish). Perhaps if it were, there would be a greater understanding of why “my nation” has been so hated by this one.
Please remember ye Brit bashers, it wasn’t the ordinary folk that made so many mistakes and caused so much pain and hatred between our countries.
