BRENDAN HOWLIN has said the legislation cutting the pay of public workers on over €65,000 a year will be discussed by TDs next week. In the Dáil this evening, Howlin said the legislation – the ‘Financial Emergency Measures in the Public Interest Bill 2013’ – will begin its passage through the Dáil on Tuesday.
Similar bills in the past have been rushed through the Dáil within a week, so TDs are likely to have finished dealing with the legislation by this time next week.
