These 15 photos by the Air Corps show just how breathtaking Ireland can be in the summertime

Stunning. Just stunning.

AS WE SET about our regular day-to-day grinds, sometimes it’s all too easy to forget that we live in a country with scenery people flock from half-way round the world to witness.

One of the perks of the job for Air Corps staff, however, is that they get to see some these sights every day…

The photos here were taken from Defence Forces craft on various missions around the coast and around the country over the last few months.

They regular post new ones over at their Facebook page, by the way — which is well worth a follow…

1. Inishmore, the Aran Islands, Galway…

2. Inisheer, Aran Islands, Galway…

3. The limestone pavements of the Burren, Co Clare…

4. North of the Aran Islands: The cliffs of Dún Aengus…

5. The sun beginning to set behind Croagh Patrick, Co Mayo…

6. Coomeen, on the Beara Peninsula…

7. Allihies, on the Beara Peninsula…

8. Dursey, at the southwestern tip of Beara…

9. Mizen Head, the most south-westerly point of mainland Ireland…

10. Cape Clear Island, off Cork

11. Skellig Beag off the coast of Kerry…

12. The Great Blasket Island, Co Kerry…
