Do you take all of your annual leave?
Over a third of people don’t use all of their holiday entitlements, a survey has said.
WHILE SUMMER IS often seen as the peak time for people to take time off work, that may not be the case for everyone.
A survey has suggested that more than one third of Irish workers don’t use all of their annual leave – a statistic that HR Solutions head Caroline Reidy described to RTÉ’s Drivetime as a “shocker”.
Reidy said that there are a number of reasons why some workers do not take all of their leave. She said people might feel that it’s not worth taking time off because of “the workload they have when they come back”, and others can be reluctant to pass on their responsibilities to their colleagues.
She added that everyone is entitled to take their annual leave – which is at least four ‘working weeks’.
