Man arrested in connection with book theft at National Library
A large number of books and pamphlets, some of which are of historical value, were discovered at a house in Clonsilla.

THE ARTS AND Antiques Unit of the An Garda Síochána have arrested a 35-year-old man in relation to the theft of a number of items from the National Library of Ireland.

The arrest came after a planned search in the Clonsilla area of Dublin where a large number of books and pamphlets,  some of which are of historical value, were discovered.

The search was made at about 7am this morning by gardaí from the arts and antiques unit of National Bureau of Criminal Investigation

The man currently being held at Lucan Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act for which he can be held for up to 24 hours.
