ENVIRONMENT MINISTER ALAN Kelly was compared to The Simpsons character Nelson Muntz in the Dáil yesterday, during a debate on water charges.
Anti-Austerity Alliance member Paul Murphy told TDs: “Minister Kelly is swaggering around the place like Nelson from The Simpsons, threatening to rob people’s lunch money.”
It was later pointed out that Murphy referenced the wrong character:
That didn’t stop Murphy from taking the comparison to the next level today, mocking up the below election poster, in which voters are threatened with a wedgie:
Kelly and the Department of Environment did not respond to requests for comment.
