Pedestrian in her 80s who was seriously injured in Co Mayo road collision dies in hospital

The woman had been taken to Mayo General Hospital.

A WOMAN IN her 80s who was seriously injured when hit by a car last Thursday has died in hospital, a garda spokesperson said. 

Gardaí are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the collision involving the pedestrian and car, which occurred at Glebe Street, Ballinrobe, Co Mayo on Thursday at around 4.20pm.

The woman had been taken to Mayo General Hospital.

“She has since passed away from her injuries,” the spokesperson said. 

Road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage and were travelling in the area of the N84 / Glebe Street, Ballinrobe, Co Mayo between 3.50pm and 4.50pm on Thursday 20 August 2026 are asked to make this available to investigating gardaí.
