GETTING TO GRIPS with a fast-changing property market is tricky, but we’re here to make things simpler.
Each week, we’ll handpick a number of homes within a similar budget, to give you a snapshot of the property landscape at a particular price point.
This week, we’re looking at properties in Co Meath with an asking price of exactly €425,000 – from a five-bed in Ashbourne to a bungalow on 1.5 acres in Bective.
A five-bed property within 15 minutes walk of Ashbourne town, 30 Churchfield Park is an ideal family home. It comes to the market in turn-key condition, with accommodation that spans three floors. On the ground floor, there’s a sitting room, an open-plan kitchen, living and dining area, a bathroom and a utility room.
Four bedrooms (three double, one single) are on the first floor, as is the family bathroom, while the master suite is on the second floor. No 30 features a large rear garden with two patio areas and a lawn area, as well as off-street parking to the front. There are three playgrounds in the Churchfield development, while there are a number of primary and secondary schools within walking distance.
Located in a quiet cul-de-sac, 25 Clonkeen is a detached four-bed property within 10 minutes’ walk of Ratoath town. The house is in walk-in condition, with features including solid oak flooring, a solid fuel-burning stove and a neat kitchen with a Belfast sink.
Each bedroom comes complete with fitted wardrobes, while the master bedroom benefits from an en suite bathroom. No 25 boasts a private rear garden finished in a mixture of gravel and paving, while a raised decking area makes for the perfect spot to dine al fresco. In a family-friendly location, the property is within walking distance of a selection of schools and sports clubs.
An appealing property through and through, Oakdale is a five-bed bungalow on a mature and private site of 1.5 acres. The interior is bright and roomy, and includes a large sun room with a log-burning stove, vaulted ceilings and views of the gardens. Sliding doors lead from here to the living room, which is impressively spacious.
A cobble lock driveway to the front provides ample parking space and privacy from the road, while the garden to the rear benefits from a large patio, mature trees and shrubs and an expansive lawn. A detached double garage provides the ideal space for a home office, workshop or den. Despite its setting in the quiet Meath countryside, Navan town is just a 10-minute drive away.
