POLICE IN AUSTRALIA have appealed for help in finding an Irishman who violently attacked another man.
David Mulligan, a 33-year-old personal trainer, was captured on CCTV attacking Karl Nissen in a Sydney suburb after their dogs became entangled.
He was found guilty of the attack, which left his victim with a fractured eye socket, a fractured jaw and a collapsed sinus, by three Supreme Court judges.
Mulligan was given a suspended sentence of 15 months, meaning he was released into the community.
However, the Court of Appeal found the sentence “manifestly inadequate” and ordered he be sent to prison.
Police haven’t been able to find him since the order and have appealed for help in finding him.
They urged the public not approach Mulligan, who was an amateur boxer.
“His current whereabouts are not known, but he is known to frequent Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. Anyone who sees him is urged not to approach him, but contact 000 immediately. Information on his whereabouts can be reported to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
