A DRIVER AGED in his 80s has been killed after his car collided with another in Co Cork this evening.
It happened on the Bandon to Kilbrittain Road, at a crossroads close to Bandon, shortly after 6pm.
The man was the only occupant of his car. The four people in the other car weren’t injured.
His body has been removed to Cork University Hospital, where a post mortem will be carried out tomorrow.
A section of the road is closed at the scene this evening as forensic tests are carried out, and diversions are in place.
Gardaí are asking any witnesses to contact Bandon Garda Station on 023 885 2200.
