THE HEAD OF programming on BBC Radio 2 has said he hopes Ryan Tubridy will “work his magic” on the station.
BBC Radio2 formally announced Tubridy’s substitution for Graham Norton on his Saturday morning show from 23 July. Tubridy will take the helm for eight weeks, from 10am to 1pm. The press release calls Tubridy “arguably the biggest chat show host and television presenter in Ireland”.
Lewis Carnie, head of programmes for BBC Radio 2 and 6 Music, said:
It’s always exciting to introduce new voices to the schedule, and I’m delighted that we’ve managed to persuade another of Ireland’s biggest stars to work his magic on Radio 2.
Ryan Tubridy also confirmed that he will continue on hosting Tubridy on 2fm over the summer, so will essentially be working a 6-morning week.
