Investigation under way into death of woman in Belfast

The 49-year-old’s body was discovered on Hill Street in the Cathedral Quarter this morning.

AN INVESTIGATION IS under way into the death of a 49-year-old woman in central Belfast.

The PSNI received a call at around 10am this morning that a body had been found at Hill Street, in the Cathedral Quarter area, a spokesperson for the force confirmed to TheJournal.ie this evening.

She said they were “treating the death as suspicious” and that the investigation was at a very early stage.

Emergency services remain at the scene this evening.
