Belfast double murder victims named by police

Finbar McGrillen (40) and Caron Smyth (42) were found dead in an apartment on Friday. A man is still being questioned as part of investigations.

THE MAN AND woman found murdered in a house in Belfast on Friday have been named as Finbar McGrillen (40) and Caron Smyth (42).

Police questioning a man arrested as part of the investigation have been granted permission to detain him for an additional 30 hours.

The 33-year-old man was arrested on Saturday but a court has now given the PSNI more time to hold him in custody.

The bodies were found at the apartment in Ravenhill Court in the city and it is believed that the man being held was known to at least one of the deceased.
