Search for missing boy stood down after body discovered

Fourteen-year-old Benjamin was reported missing from Navan on Wednesday, 19 November.

GARDAÍ HAVE STOOD down the search for missing boy Benjamin Spot after a body was discovered in Co Meath earlier today.

Fourteen-year-old Benjamin was reported missing from Navan on Wednesday, 19 November.

Gardaí said no further action is required at this time.

A public appeal to assist in the search for Benjamin was launched the day after he was reported missing.

In a renewed appeal later in November, gardaí said the boy was last seen cycling from the Market Square in Navan towards the Kentsrown Road area of Navan on the evening of 19 November.

His bicycle was subsequently found at the Ramparts, Navan the following day, 20 November.

Widespread searches took place along the River Boyne.
