Blood Bikes South

Emergency blood transport service gets a boost from Cork car dealership

Blackwater Motors donated a brand new VW Polo to volunteer organisation Blood Bike South.

BLACKWATER MOTORS IN Cork have donated a brand new Volkswagen Polo to the local community charity Blood Bike South.

Blood Bike South is a volunteer group, primarily operating in the southern region of Ireland, which provides a motorcycle transport service of blood and other urgent medical materials to hospitals and clinics on an out-of-hours basis.

Last week, members of the group were presented with one of the first 172 registered cars to leave the Blackwater Motors Volkswagen showroom.

The Volkswagen Polo is a much-needed addition to the Blood Bike’s fleet as Ritchie Daly, Blackwater Motors Senior Sales Executive and member of the Blood Bike South organisation, explains:

As a member of the organisation, I know how important the addition of the Polo is to our fleet. The harsh weather conditions can prevent the bikes from travelling, hampering the service we provide. With the Polo it means that we will always be able to provide our services.

Blood Bike South depend on the kind generosity of local communities and businesses to be able to provide this service. If you wish to volunteer or make a donation you can contact them via the Blood Bike South website.
