Pictures: Four fire units responded to a huge blaze in south Dublin last night

An investigation into the cause of the blaze is under way.

FOUR UNITS OF Dublin Fire Brigade were called to respond to a major blaze at a derelict house close to the M50 in the south of the county last night.

The alarm was raised shortly after 9pm, as a fire was reported on Brennanstown Road in the suburb of Cabinteely.

Units from Dolphin’s Barn, Dun Laoghaire, Donnybrook and Tallaght all attended the scene, along with gardaí.

The fire service detailed its response to the blaze on social media, posting some arresting pictures on Twitter.

A garda spokesperson said there had been no injuries, and that an investigation was under way.
