A TEENAGER HAS been hospitalised after a shooting in Bluebell in Dublin.

Shortly after 8.15pm this evening, gardaí responded to reports of a shooting outside a home in the Dublin 12 suburb.

The male, aged in his mid-teens, was transported from the scene to St James’s Hospital, where he is receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

Gardaí remain at the scene of the incident tonight.

A Garda spokesperson said that investigations are taking place into the incident and that anyone with information is urged to contact Kilmainham Garda Station at 01 666 9700 or the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111.

Local councillor Daithí Doolan has said that tonight’s shooting in Bluebell was an attack on the whole community.

“Tonight’s shooting in Bluebell was an attack on the whole community,” the Sinn Féin councillor said in a statement.

“It was totally unacceptable and should not have happened. Those involved must face justice.”

Doolan wished the victim a “full and speedy recovery”, adding that anyone with information should contact gardaí.
