Body of missing man Ciarán Noonan identified

A man in his 20s has been arrested this morning in connection with the investigation.

THE BODY DISCOVERED in a Co Meath field on Friday has been confirmed to be that of missing Dublin man Ciarán Noonan.

Gardaí have confirmed that a murder investigation is now underway.

Noonan, of Russell Ave, East Wall, Dublin, had been missing since 20 October. Eyewitnesses said that they had seen the 29-year-old being confronted on Russell Avenue before being beaten and bundled into a car.

As part of the investigation, a male aged in his 20s was arrested in the north Dublin area this morning. The man is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at Store Street Garda Station.

A post-mortem examination has concluded and preliminary results have been furnished to investigating gardaí.
