RESIDENTIAL GAS CUSTOMERS with Bord Gáis Energy will see prices increase slightly next month.
The energy supplier received approval today from the regulator to raise tariff.
However, the company expects it to be the last hike of its kind.
The Commission for Energy Regulation (CER) said the 1.47 per cent increase in prices will come into affect on 14 April.
It brings price increases this year to a total of 3.67 per, after an increase came into effect last week.
Impact
Manager Director of Bord Gáis Energy Dave Kirwan said any price hike would have an impact on customers, “particularly in these difficult times”.
“That is why we have worked with the CER to try to minimise the effect on our customers,” he said in a statement.
‘Last adjustment’
However, he said this is the last ‘regulated tariff adjustment’ expected.
“We look forward to deregulation in the residential gas market in the coming months, and to competing on a level playing field with other suppliers in both the gas market and on a dual fuel basis,” he added.
